Accessible Customer Service Commitment

  • Communicate with people with disabilities in ways that take their accessibility needs into account.
  • Welcome service animals and support persons, subject to applicable legal requirements.
  • Allow people to use their own assistive devices and provide reasonable assistance with SmartPrint equipment or devices where available.
  • Provide notice of temporary disruptions when an accessibility-related service or facility is temporarily unavailable.
  • Maintain a process for receiving and responding to accessibility feedback.
  • Provide information in accessible formats or with communication supports upon request, in a timely manner and at no additional cost beyond the ordinary cost of the format, where required by law.

Information and Communications

When a person with a disability requests information or communication in an accessible format or with communication support, SmartPrint will consult with the person to determine an appropriate format or support and will provide it in a timely manner, subject to applicable exceptions in the AODA requirements.

Employment

SmartPrint is committed to accessible employment practices, including accessible recruitment, communication of accommodation policies, consultation about accessible workplace information, individualized workplace emergency response information where needed, and accessible performance management, career development and redeployment practices.

Training

SmartPrint will provide accessibility training as required by the AODA to applicable employees, volunteers, policy developers and people who provide goods, services or facilities on SmartPrint’s behalf. Training will cover accessible customer service, relevant accessibility requirements, and the Ontario Human Rights Code as it relates to people with disabilities. Training will be provided as soon as practicable after joining the organization and when relevant policies change.

SmartPrint welcomes feedback about accessibility. Feedback may be provided by email, telephone, mail or another reasonable method. Feedback will be reviewed and responded to as appropriate. Individuals may provide feedback anonymously if they choose.

Accessible Formats

Upon request, SmartPrint will provide this policy and other information in an accessible format or with communication support, taking into account the person’s accessibility needs. Requests should be directed to the Feedback form on our website.
